Welcome to the Services Reference Guide of ChatX IRC Net.
Here obtain information in english for the availables commands for the services NickServ (NickName Server), ChanServ (Channel Server), MemoServ (Memorandum Server), BotServ (Bot Server) and StatServ (Statistic Server).
Also exist the service OperServ (Operator Server), but no have write here, why only is used by IRCOp's -(IRC Operator)-.
Introduction
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a real time communication service (know as chat) in which you can write to multiple people of several countries. For this purpose, is necessary to use a IRC program (know as IRC Client), to connect a IRC Server with a nickname and send a message to other user, which are identify by a nickname, establish "one-to-one" communication.
In the case of IRC, is possible send messages with more of one person. For who use PC with OS Windows (without to import version), is common because IRC Client allow multiple windows with respectly messages (known as query), to which no possible in IRC Clients in computers that execute any version of Unix System in text mode (Linux include). Of course, if you are using Unix in graphic mode, can u get and use one IRC client that support multiple querys.
Exist rooms in IRC where people are meeting and make public chat, this rooms is a channels. Inside of channels exists users who have certain privileges over access type and actions to make inside a channel, they are Channel Operators. They have rights under channel because someone has been granted this privileges. Is here where become the services what want explain in this document.
The Services have the objective to offer easy control over the details and form to access to the channel. In the case of ChatX IRC Net, is current use the five services write before.
NickServ: |
NickServ allows you to "register" a nickname and prevent others from using it.

ChanServ: |
ChanServ allows you to register and control various aspects of channels. ChanServ can often prevent malicious users from "taking over" channels by limiting who is allowed channel operator priviliges.

MemoServ: |
MemoServ is a utility allowing IRC users to send short messages to other IRC users, whether they are online at the time or not, or to channels.

BotServ: |
It has been created for users that can't host or configure a bot, or for use on networks that don't allow users' bot.
